Hey! I'm all about the FREE around here and nothing makes me happier than a free tool that actually helps me grow my business. So, without further ado, I bring to you, my favourite Top Five Tools I Use To Grow My Social Media Business.
Number One - Canva
I mean really. There isn't a single day that goes by that I don't use Canva. It's the most versatile graphic design tool I've found and it's so user friendly and it's FREE!. Here are the reasons why I love it so much.
- I can upload my own graphics and easily edit them for my needs.
- Every type of graphic marketing piece I need is already sized for the platform or use - this should have been my number one reason for loving Canva!
- I can easily share my designs with my team members.
- the templates that are most often free - I use these rarely for design and mostly for inspiration or to copy a piece or a font inside
- the frame element - I can insert my own photo or graphic inside of nearly any frame and have it sized and cut perfectly
What I Use It For
I mostly use Canva for Facebook ads and posts, Pinterest graphics, blog graphics and email headers. After that, I use it occasionally for posters, flyers and Instagram, but it does so, so much more.
Number Two - Colorzilla - Chrome Extension
Another tool that I use every day in conjunction with Canva. It is the most incredibly handy colour matching tool evah! It's a Chrome extension, so it sits on my toolbar and looks like this...
Here's a few examples of how I use it.
1) I'm in Canva and have downloaded a flat lay or similar feel. (see the picture here to get a feel for what a flat lay is)
I've used this picture for a few things, mainly an email header, and I wanted a thick outline across the bottom and decided I really like the limey green on one of the books on the desk. I opened Colorzilla, chose Pick Colour From Page, hover the little dropper over the colour and click. That's all there is to it and it copies the hex code for that colour so that you can insert it into any design feature where the colour is customizable. Here's what that looks like.
You can see the bar across the bottom is now the exact same colour as the book on the desk. Here's the unhindered finished product.
Cool right? Okay, so that was only one example, but I've got a ton more in my upcoming Colorzilla How To Video!
Number Three - Motion Mail
This handy countdown timer works perfectly when I need to create a sense of urgency. I'm able to create a customizable countdown clock that I can insert into any landing page I'm creating for an open/close launch, or for a pre-sale price or whatever I need it for!
This one here I created for my upcoming course launch, 10X Your Revenue Using Facebook and Pinterest Without Spending A Dime On Ads!
Number Four - Glitche
This app is totally new to me, but I'm in Loooovee! You can make tiny little snack sized videos for Facebook and Instagram that are "glitching". Check it out and download it today! Video is the only content to add if you can swing it and this app takes a photo and creates a video out of it!
Number Five - Adobe Spark
This is my very favourite new tool and I'm so excited to learn more about it. I've only begun to create video inside of this tool, but it's proving to be super easy and so much fun! If you're not creating video for your social media platforms, you're going to get zero engagement with the new algorithms that arrived in September! This website gets you there, easily and FREE! I'll do a longer post on how I use it and post some results in the coming month!
Thanks for hanging out with me in my blog! As a token of how much that means, I've got a HUGE FREEBIE for you! I've got a FREE mini-course - How To Grow Your Business Using Facebook Live!
